About the Medical and Scientific Branch of the American Lung Association of Massachusetts Established in 1945, the Medical and Scientific Branch (MSB) is the medical section of the American Lung Association in Massachusetts. Membership in the MSB includes physicians and surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, researchers and others with a common interest of preventing and fighting lung disease. The MSB strives to represent the pulmonary medicine community in Massachusetts. Mission Statement The goals of the MSB shall be the promotion and improvement of the respiratory health of residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The MSB shall be dedicated to the highest professional and scientific standards. The MSB shall have two major purposes:
The MSB Council is the governing body of the MSB and conducts the business of the MSB. It is composed of the officers and fifteen (15) MSB members elected by the membership. The MSB is operated according to a set of By-Laws, agreed upon by its members. Current Officers
